Gun Control opinion

By far one of the best pieces written on gun control I've read lately by author Larry Correia. It's a little long to post so hers is the link. His background and logic destroy any of the leftist arguments.

I bet you didn't know that Utah school teacher are allowed to carry concealed. I didn't either till I read Larry's piece.
Here it is at the link below.

Sade, Smooth Jazz

I really love smooth jazz and have listed to Sade for years, If you havn't seen it check out her new live concert CD recorded last year during her world tour and released in the States back in March.

Patriot Rock

Poker Face a Patriot rock band from PA get it with this song.

With all the B.S. coming out of D.C. and the lack of leadership or constitutional behavior from the great majority of our elected representatives I personally don't see how this can end well.

We have many issues some of which individually or  a combination of a few could literally change the way we live virtually overnight. The politicians know this but they are more interested in their own illusion of maintaining power.

There is the crushing debt accompanied by the Federal Reserves continued printing of money and buying of toxic assets, which devalues the dollar and puts the economy on the edge of runway inflation like what is happening in Argentina right now as an example. Then you have the leftist like Fienstein and Schumer getting ready to pounce on legal gun ownership by passing feel good worthless legislation in the wake of Sandy Hook, Funny were where all of the politicians as the gang bangers shoot up the major urban centers in this country? I can tell you nowhere because they know that majority of the public could care less about gangs and drug dealers as long as it doesn't intrude into white bread suburbia. Any new laws like it are not will be the camel nose under the tent for further restrictions.

I have an idea as we don't need new laws, how about enforcing the laws we have, taking a look at the toxic drugs that we pump into our youth and take a realistic look at the failed war on drugs to start curbing gun related violence. Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy commited by an unstable young man who should have been institutionalized a long time ago.  This was a terrible incident but as a comparison where are the tears for the 3000 plus unborn who are sacrificed to the alter of choice every working day? Crickets is all you hear because this does not fit the lefts agenda, and many  Americans just choose to ignore this violent act.

In regards to gun rights the left would ban and confiscate every one, regardless of how they pander to hunters and sportsmen. This realty is becoming more and more obvious everyday as the public statements of Cumo, Bloomberg and leftists in Congress and the judiciary. They like all stateists know that those with the guns make the rules. This is why they continually ignore the Constitution or refer to as the old document nor really relative to today. Funny thing how many of these politicians exercise the right to carry concealed, in particular that hypocrite Senator Fienstien.

This goes hand in hand with this years mass purchase of ammunition by DHS. Back in March DHS purchased 450 million round of .40 S&W and .357 Sig hollow point ammunition and back in September tendered a purchase order for 200 million .223 rounds, (Used in AR/M-4/M16) and 176k round of .306 168 grain boat tail hollow point which are used in precision fire (sniper) rifles. All purchases together this year come to over 1.6 billion rounds to be delivered over the next few years. Pretty impressive especially when asked the DHS spokesmen said that is was mostly for training. If this is the case they should have some excellent marksmen in the alphabet soup agencies. After all if your just practicing why would you buy the more expensive hollow point ammo instead of just plain old ball?

I still love my country for what it has stood for, what we can do in the future and what the founding fathers did for us. I stay active by calling out my local politicians as the overstep or under preform, I believe that we still can be as individuals a peaceful agent for change to bring our country back to greatness.

The bill of rights was given to us to preserve our freedom and liberty. Constraining or eliminating one area will put all the rest of our God given rights in jeopardy and put us all under the boot of the state.

Ann Coulter gets it

I like Ann Coulter she has the guts to say what many people won't in the public arena. In many cases armed citizens stop criminals with out a shot being fired. These stories almost never make in the news piratically in the leftist MSM because it doe not fit their or the governments agenda.

Here is her article from 19 Dec.

WE KNOW HOW TO STOP SCHOOL SHOOTINGS
December 19, 2012

In the wake of a monstrous crime like a madman’s mass murder of defenseless women and children at the Newtown, Conn., elementary school, the nation’s attention is riveted on what could have been done to prevent such a massacre.

Luckily, some years ago, two famed economists, William Landes at the University of Chicago and John Lott at Yale, conducted a massive study of multiple victim public shootings in the United States between 1977 and 1995 to see how various legal changes affected their frequency and death toll.

Landes and Lott examined many of the very policies being proposed right now in response to the Connecticut massacre: waiting periods and background checks for guns, the death penalty and increased penalties for committing a crime with a gun.
None of these policies had any effect on the frequency of, or carnage from, multiple-victim shootings. (I note that they did not look at reforming our lax mental health laws, presumably because the ACLU is working to keep dangerous nuts on the street in all 50 states.)
Only one public policy has ever been shown to reduce the death rate from such crimes: concealed-carry laws.Their study controlled for age, sex, race, unemployment, retirement, poverty rates, state population, murder arrest rates, violent crime rates, and on and on. The effect of concealed-carry laws in deterring mass public shootings was even greater than the impact of such laws on the murder rate generally.

Someone planning to commit a single murder in a concealed-carry state only has to weigh the odds of one person being armed. But a criminal planning to commit murder in a public place has to worry that anyone in the entire area might have a gun. You will notice that most multiple-victim shootings occur in “gun-free zones” — even within states that have concealed-carry laws: public schools, churches, Sikh temples, post offices, the movie theater where James Holmes committed mass murder, and the Portland, Ore., mall where a nut starting gunning down shoppers a few weeks ago.

Guns were banned in all these places. Mass killers may be crazy, but they’re not stupid. If the deterrent effect of concealed-carry laws seems surprising to you, that’s because the media hide stories of armed citizens stopping mass shooters. At the Portland shooting, for example, no explanation was given for the amazing fact that the assailant managed to kill only two people in the mall during the busy Christmas season. It turns out, concealed-carry-holder Nick Meli hadn’t noticed that the mall was a gun-free zone. He pointed his (otherwise legal) gun at the shooter as he paused to reload, and the next shot was the attempted mass murderer killing himself. (Meli aimed, but didn’t shoot, because there were bystanders behind the shooter.)
In a nonsense “study” going around the Internet right now, Mother Jones magazine claims to have produced its own study of all public shootings in the last 30 years and concludes: “In not a single case was the killing stopped by a civilian using a gun.”

This will come as a shock to people who know something about the subject.

The magazine reaches its conclusion by simply excluding all cases where an armed civilian stopped the shooter: They looked only at public shootings where four or more people were killed, i.e., the ones where the shooter wasn’t stopped.

If we care about reducing the number of people killed in mass shootings, shouldn’t we pay particular attention to the cases where the aspiring mass murderer was prevented from getting off more than a couple rounds? It would be like testing the effectiveness of weed killers, but refusing to consider any cases where the weeds died. In addition to the Portland mall case, here are a few more examples excluded by the Mother Jones’ methodology:

– Mayan Palace Theater, San Antonio, Texas, this week: Jesus Manuel Garcia shoots at a movie theater, a police car and bystanders from the nearby China Garden restaurant; as he enters the movie theater, guns blazing, an armed off-duty cop shoots Garcia four times, stopping the attack. Total dead: Zero.

– Winnemucca, Nev., 2008: Ernesto Villagomez opens fire in a crowded restaurant; concealed carry permit-holder shoots him dead. Total dead: Two. (I’m excluding the shooters’ deaths in these examples.)
– Appalachian School of Law, 2002: Crazed immigrant shoots the dean and a professor, then begins shooting students; as he goes for more ammunition, two armed students point their guns at him, allowing a third to tackle him. Total dead: Three.
– Santee, Calif., 2001: Student begins shooting his classmates — as well as the “trained campus supervisor”; an off-duty cop who happened to be bringing his daughter to school that day points his gun at the shooter, holding him until more police arrive. Total dead: Two.

– Pearl High School, Mississippi, 1997: After shooting several people at his high school, student heads for the junior high school; assistant principal Joel Myrick retrieves a .45 pistol from his car and points it at the gunman’s head, ending the murder spree. Total dead: Two.

– Edinboro, Pa., 1998: A student shoots up a junior high school dance being held at a restaurant; restaurant owner pulls out his shotgun and stops the gunman. Total dead: One.

By contrast, the shootings in gun-free zones invariably result in far higher casualty figures — Sikh temple, Oak Creek, Wis. (six dead); Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va. (32 dead); Columbine High School, Columbine, Colo. (12 dead); Amish school, Lancaster County, Pa. (five little girls killed); public school, Craighead County, Ark. (five killed, including four little girls). All these took place in gun-free zones, resulting in lots of people getting killed — and thereby warranting inclusion in the Mother Jones study.

If what we care about is saving the lives of innocent human beings by reducing the number of mass public shootings and the deaths they cause, only one policy has ever been shown to work: concealed-carry laws. On the other hand, if what we care about is self-indulgent grandstanding, and to hell with dozens of innocent children being murdered in cold blood, try the other policies.

Founding Fathers

I've had it up to my neck the lying and condescending attitude of our so called leaders. They talk about more gun laws like that will solve anything. It never has and never will, that;s just how it is. They have no problem making it harder for Americans to defend themselves while they work in a fortress like Capitol building. I'll listen to them as soon as they get rid of all their security and jackbooted guards. It doesn't matter if its guns, Benghazi or the fiscal catastrophe that is looming. None of these Congressman are capable of telling the truth and showing some spine and leadership. To them it is all about power for themselves and the Federal government.

I think back over my 22 years of military service over half of it spent during the cold war. I remember all the hours of exercise and commitment shown as we looked east towards the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, the real totalitarians. The governments of these nations along with the communists in China were responsible for more human death and misery over the last 100 years that can be cataloged. But yet today in the United States we have a government drunk on power with large sweeping legislation that such as the Patriot Act and the NDAA which authorizes the indefinite detention of American civilians that only erode our civil rights but corrode the very fabric of freedom that made up the United States at our founding. The talk on the hill of further guns laws is nothing more than another attempt to erode additional rights as guaranteed under the 2nd amendment. It is no different than what laws that have already been passed at the Federal level such as  the 1934 National Fire Arms Act, the 1968 Gun Control Act, the 1990 and 1995 Gun Free School Zone Act and the now sundowned 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban. The last one was the last attempt at feel good legislation. This is were the left and the stateist came up with the term assault weapon. It was defined as a military style weapon that cosmetically looked like an assault rifle if it had two or more of the following features, pistol grip, flash hider, telescoping stock, bayonet lug or a grenade launcher.

I expect that Biden and his joke of committee will come up with  proposals that just like this a law that makes people feel good do nothing but will give the Federal government more control to ban things it doesn't like. It will do nothing for security but take these stateists one more step to rule over all of us with a jack boot. Don't think it can happen here, talk to anyone who grew up and got out of any of the old communist regimes, Poland, Cuba, East Germany and others see what they say.

I work with a man who left Poland and who just became an American citizen last July. He sees it every day the creep towards more control of a totalitarian government, the same thing he manged to get away from. People need to wake up, the founding father s wrote down our God given rights in the Bill of Rights to ensure that we citizens could remain free with liberty, Do you really want to depend on the benevolence of an out of control Washington D.C if the 2nd amendment or the Bill of rights was gone?  A government that cannot even pass a budget or do anything well. No I didn't think so. Get active and call out your local politicians to actually do something right and provide some leadership. In closing I will leave a series of quotes from our founding fathers and other Patriots and leaders. Thank God these men were there in times of tribulation.

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"
-- Thomas Jefferson

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

-- Benjamin Franklin

"As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion to your walks."

-- Thomas Jefferson

"Taking my gun away because I might shoot someone is like cutting my tongue out because I might yell `Fire!' in a crowded theater."

-- Peter Venetoklis

"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."

-- John F. Kennedy

“What country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time that his people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.”

-- Thomas Jefferson

"To disarm the people...was the best and most effectual way to enslave them."

-- George Mason

”Let us hope our weapons are never needed -- but do not forget what the common people knew when they demanded the Bill of Rights: An armed citizenry is the first defense, the best defense, and the final defense against tyranny. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military, the hired servants of our rulers. Only the government -- and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws."

-- Edward Abbey

"The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that is good."

-- George Washington

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms, disarm only those who are neither inclined, nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants. They serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

-- Thomas Jefferson, 1764

"What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms."

-- Thomas Jefferson

"Those who beat their swords into plowshares usually end up plowing for those who didn’t."

-- Ben Franklin

"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property… Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them."

-–Thomas Paine

"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government."

-– George Washington

"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined…The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able might have a gun."

-- Patrick Henry

"The right of the people to keep and bear…arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country…"

-– James Madison, I Annals of Congress 434 (June 8, 1789).

"(The Constitution preserves) the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation…(where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms."

-- James Madison

"If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government…"

-- Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist (#28) .

"The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed."

-- Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers at 184-B.

"To disarm the people is the best and most effective way to enslave them."

-- George Mason

"The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States."

-- Noah Webster, “An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution (1787) in Pamplets on the Constitution of the United States (P.Ford, 1888)

"[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or the state governments, but where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the People."

-- Tench Coxe, Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.

Senator Daniel Inouye, RIP

Senator Daniel Inouyes passed away today, he was a real Americam hero. Rest in peace, Lt.

The President of the United States

in the name of The Congress

takes pleasure in presenting the

Medal of Honor

to Inouye, Daniel K.

Rank and organization: Second Lieutenant, U.S. Army, Company E, 442nd Infantry. Place and date: San Terenzo, Italy, 21 April 1945. Birth: 7 September 1924, Honolulu, Hawaii. Entered service at: Honolulu, Hawaii.

Citation:

Second Lieutenant Daniel K. Inouye distinguished himself by extraordinary heroism in action on 21 April 1945, in the vicinity of San Terenzo, Italy. While attacking a defended ridge guarding an important road junction, Second Lieutenant Inouye skillfully directed his platoon through a hail of automatic weapon and small arms fire, in a swift enveloping movement that resulted in the capture of an artillery and mortar post and brought his men to within 40 yards of the hostile force. Emplaced in bunkers and rock formations, the enemy halted the advance with crossfire from three machine guns. With complete disregard for his personal safety, Second Lieutenant Inouye crawled up the treacherous slope to within five yards of the nearest machine gun and hurled two grenades, destroying the emplacement. Before the enemy could retaliate, he stood up and neutralized a second machine gun nest. Although wounded by a sniper’s bullet, he continued to engage other hostile positions at close range until an exploding grenade shattered his right arm. Despite the intense pain, he refused evacuation and continued to direct his platoon until enemy resistance was broken and his men were again deployed in defensive positions. In the attack, 25 enemy soldiers were killed and eight others captured. By his gallant, aggressive tactics and by his indomitable leadership, Second Lieutenant Inouye enabled his platoon to advance through formidable resistance, and was instrumental in the capture of the ridge. Second Lieutenant Inouye’s extraordinary heroism and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit on him, his unit, and the United States Army.

Observations on the CT shotting

In the wake of the tragic shooting in CT, we have seen the usual cry from the left of increased guns laws and banning guns. So instead of trying to argue with these people  I have a few observations of the leftists and their rants over the last few days, and what makes them hypocrites.

Why are they not demanding answers about all of the dead Mexican citizens as a result of Fast and Furious?

Why are they not discussing the 3000 plus innocents killed every day in this country by the abortionists?

Why do they not march in the streets over the shooting in Chicago and D.C and any other leftist controlled gun banning utopia?

Why do they not question the lack of mental health facilities and care or the excessive use of psychotropic drugs that are a common trait in recent mass shoo ting's

Why do they not recognize that these incidents usually occur in so called gun free zones?

Why do they not protest their dear leader in the White House who's questionable drone strike program has killed an untold number of equally Innocent women and children?

Why did the media fail to report that a legal armed citizen confronted the Oregon mall shooter and at that time the shooter retreated and killed himself?

The answer is simple, none of the answers to these questions will fit their preconceived narrative or agenda. What's obvious to me is the leftist want the U.S to be disarmed, this way nothing can stand in the way of their agenda which is turning this country into a socialist hell for our own good.

It's to bad they and the media will not report that the United States has a lower violent crime rate than many of the European countries that the left wants us to emulate.

People in this country need to start educating themselves instead of being a sheep for the state.

Also check out Market Ticker for an approach to solutions for school house safety and what is reasonable in response to these type of incidents.

New CSAR Helo for the USAF?

A few years ago the Air Force had the first round of the CSRX and selected a version of the medium lift MH-47 Chinook to be its new helo replacing the MH-53 Pave Low that was retired after many years of service.  After this selection Sikorsky protested the award and just like the abortive Air Force tanker contract the helo competition had to be re-bid.
This happened earlier this week and guess what, nobody bid expect for Sikorsky using the same platformm that lost before an upgraded UH-60M Blackhawk.

The Air Force has had to buy some UH-60M to flesh out the existing PaveHawk fleet and has complained for years about wanting a larger bird with more legs for this role. This bid if allowed to stand does nothing to improve this situation.

What I don't understand is why they just don't piggyback with the USMC and buy the new CH-53K and apply the Pavelow mods to the platform and voila they would have a heavy lift helicopter more suitable for the special operation role than the much smaller UH-60M. This makes to much common sense so there is no hope of this actually happening even though the face of combat rescue is changing and the need to haul a larger PJ contingent with additional equipment would be easier done with a MH-53K heavy lift bird.

Below is a photo of the new CH-53K and a nice video of the PaveLow in action.

North Korean rocket a threat?

The launch yesterday of a North Korean rocket that inserted a satellite into orbit is very significant. What is really disturbing is the lack of any real reaction by the Obama
White House called the launch a "highly provocative act that threatens regional security,"

This is probably the understatement of the day. Aside from the fact that this launch violated various United Nation resolutions the ability to launch a satellite into orbit demonstrates the ability to deliver a nuclear weapon. Now before anyone can dismiss this idea as preposterous remember they don't need to deliver a weapon to a point target on the west coast to hurt the United States. A more effective use  would be to launch a weapon so it explodes 100 miles above the coast and let the electromagnetic pulse take down the grid and all electrical devices that are in line of site.
If this were to happen the great majority of the west coast would be in chaos as they reverted to the 1800's in seconds. An attack of this type would take the United States a generation to recover.

Most of the damage to the electrical grid could be avoided if we would actually spend money to harden it as opposed to giving free phones and foreign aid but this has been argued for by at least one congressman Roscoe Bartlett from MD who lost his last election bid and who was never able to get a bill through to solve this fixable problem.

Here is a link to the Commission that was set up by congress a few years ago to examine this EMP issue. When you read these reports you will only get more pissed off at the fools that run around D.C.
http://www.empcommission.org/reports.php
One more thing on EMP is a book that I will guarantee will make you think about the what if. It titled One Second After written by William Forstchen, here was his C-Span interview. He gives a good overview of what happens and why after an EMP nuclear attack.

Thoughts on the Oregon shooting

Have you ever noticed the left wing media goes crazy every time some deranged individual does one of these shooting's. What I have observed over the years is they only report the shooting when they involve white suburbia, like in this instance CO, and AZ. Sure they give lip service to inner city problems but for the most part they could care less about ganbangers on the south side of Chicago but will endlessly go on and on about evil semi auto's powerfull weapons and such as long as the incident ins in the suburbs and most of the victims are white. Shootings like this are always tragic because of the victims and their families. Using these incidents to promote leftest totalitarian ideas is evil and should be condemned.

Like it or not there will be no change in gun laws because all of our dirt bag politicians know this is ta third rail. Beside that their shouldn't be any changes anyway. We still live in a so called free society and we do have a second amendment that protects are rights. I feel very strongly about this and I'm always amazed when the leftist want to remove our rights. When they go down this road it only means that they in fact do support tyranny and they know the only way they can ever implement their dream of utopia is disarm the American people. Because they know just like I do that those with the guns make the rules

I closing I will leave you with Ice T's interview that he did in England awhile back. He is right in his stance on guns and I support him 100%! I to will only give them up when everyone else does.

Today In U.S. History

Today on Dec 11 1972 Challenger, the Lunar Lander for Apollo 17, touched down on the Moon's surface. It was the last time that men visited the Moon. The last two men to walk on the surface of the moon were Harrison Schmitt and Eugene Cernan. Cernan and Schmitt conducted the longest lunar exploration of the Apollo program (75 hours), driving the lunar rover about 22 miles and collecting some 243 pounds of soil and rock.

Last man on the moon Eugene Cernan

Fast forward to 2012 and NASA has no manned space capability and we must pay the Russians a steep fee so our Astronauts can hitch hike to the space station.

John Hinderaker gets it

An Administration That Will Live In Infamy

John Hinderaker once again provides thougtfull insite on our ongoing debt problems.
Check out more of Johns fine work at POWERLINE.

http://www.powerlineblog.com/
There was a time when people assumed that if America’s future was under attack, it must come from a foreign source–like, say, Japan at Pearl Harbor. Those days are long gone. Now, our decline is no one’s fault but our own. We elect leaders who are ignorant of America’s history and contemptuous of its values. The currency in which this ignorance and contempt is expressed is government spending. I am not sure I can fully explain the logic, but those who are filled with hatred for the first 200 years of American history want–for some reason–America’s government to accumulate ever more power and to spend unprecedented amounts of money. Does that make sense? Seemingly not, but it is the world in which we live: the entity that is most bent on destroying the private economy of the United States of America, until recently the envy of the world, is our own government.

have spent some time thinking about this, and it is hard to find a precedent: when, in human history, has the government of any nation consciously set out to weaken that country? Sure, it has been done by accident from time to time, but on purpose? If you can think of any precedent for the Obama administration, please let it be known in the comments.

The Debt

Here is a great animation to show what are debt looks like. Check the link for more information and visuals at Demon.Ocracy.info, good stuff.

http://demonocracy.info/infographics/usa/fiscal_cliff/fiscal_cliff.html

Fiscal Cliff? Even Democrats don't support the President

The White House on Thursday admitted that even Democrats don't support Obama's tax increases. Of course they don't  well at least some of them. The whole thing is theatre and nothing will be solved until the fiscal crisis causes high inflation or a true collapse, either way we citizens are screwed.

“We don’t have 60 votes in the Senate,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said, adding the White House was “very confident” that Democrats support the principles outlined in Obama’s plan, which has met with derision among Republicans.

For whatever delusional thinking the President and his staff want a collapse. I just don't see how this can end well. If the result of all the fiat money printing and free spending by Washington leads to sever inflation than all bets are off. As food and energy cost rise the main people who are screwed are the working poor.
As it is modern American society and western culture as a whole is nine meals away from anarchy. With are fragile interconnected infrastructure and economy any disruption in energy or the financial markets will have huge repercussions.

It's to bad the idiots in Washington and in most State and local governments are the best we can do.

A Day That Will Live In Infamy

Seventy one years ago today the Imperial Japanese Fleet made the attack on Pearl Harbor ushering the United States into WWII. As the generations have passed its funny how in 1941 the enemy of the United States people were foreign powers. Today it seems are real enemies are the fools that have been elected over the last thirty years to Washington and their enablers on the left the main stream media who together with the current administration are doing all they can to destroy the United States and turn us into some kind of totalitarian socialist state.
The people need to stand up and say no more to the stateist in D.C.

Dumbest Person of the Week

This guy had got to be the dumbest person of the week. Also the statement at the end of the story makes me wonder what his immigration status is. I'm sure no one in the NOPD or ICE bothered to check.

Via Yahoo. News

One generally assumes that an ambulance with its lights flashing can park wherever it pleases. This past weekend in New Orleans, a parked ambulance was "booted" by a convenience store employee, who was apparently annoyed that the ambulance had parked in his store's lot. Never mind that the paramedics were treating a man inside the store. That employee has since been fired.

According to a report from WWLTV.com, the paramedics put the patient in the back of the ambulance and began to drive away when the vehicle came to a sudden stop. The medics saw that someone had put a boot on their vehicle. When a store employee finally removed the boot, the tire was flat. The paramedics had to call for backup while the man with chest pains waited in the back.
Jeb Tate, spokesman for New Orleans Emergency Medical Services, said, "We actually had to delay that patient's care by calling another ambulance out here to come transport this patient."

Now, a few days later, WWLTV.com reports that the convenience store employee has been fired and issued a citation by the New Orleans Police Department for simple criminal damage to property. According to the police report, the man, Ahmed Sidi Aleywa, claimed that he didn't know that the vehicle was an ambulance and that he doesn't speak English

Still no answers on Benghazi

It's been eleven weeks since the terrorist attack in Benghazi and we are still no closer to holding anyone in this administration accountable for the lies, incompetence and the cover up. It a crying shame that all we here from the left wing media is all the talk about the meaningless fiscal cliff. This of course is just to set it up to blame the evil Republicans after no deal is met but I digress.
Here is Peter Brooks from the New York Post op ed from the weekend and the link to the article.

Lost in the hubbub over Who Knew What When (then changed it) about the Sept. 11 terror attack on our Benghazi consulate is one huge question: When do the terrorists pay for what they did?We lost four brave Americans at the hands of a pro-al Qaeda group, Ansar al Sharia, and other extremists. In October, President Obama vowed to “hunt down the attackers.”
Of course, we need to know what happened prior to the tragedy so we can prevent something like this from happening again. For example: Was there an intelligence failure that kept us from having advanced warning?
Plus: Why didn’t we have enough security at the Benghazi consulate despite numerous requests from the staff in the field for more protection? And why wasn’t US military assistance rendered during the attack?
We also have to know why Team Obama so badly bungled how they told us initially what happened, including why UN ambassador Susan Rice said what she said on those Sunday morning new shows.
(You remember: Rather than Benghazi being a terror attack, it was a copy-cat demonstration of the one in Cairo, which arose in response to an anti-Muslim video produced in the United States.)

These questions, and others, are important — and Congress needs to get to the bottom of it all.But when will the terrorists who murdered Americans, including our ambassador, get their due? From the outside, after nearly three months, it doesn’t appear much is happening to bring the terrorists to justice. Yes, the Libyans rounded up a few of the “usual suspects” in the days after the attack, but little more seems to be going on to get as many as 100 terrorists involved in the raid. (A Miami Herald report claims that the Libyans have actually arrested no one.)
Some feel the Libyan government is dragging its feet for fear of making enemies of the myriad powerful, well-armed extremist militias — which, more than a year after the revolution ended, still operate freely across the country.
Indeed, the person many believe responsible for the assault, Ahmed Abu Khattala, the leader of a wing of Ansar al Sharia, is still reportedly walking the streets of Benghazi. (He’s denied involvement in the attack.)
Equally troubling, a Time report indicates that terrorist sympathizers or collaborators among Libya’s law-enforcement and security services might be implicated in the attack. OK, so the Libyans are basically paralyzed, but what are we doing?

Well, the FBI is investigating the case after a very late start. The State Department is also doing a report, and it’sgenerally assumed that US intelligence is gathering information that will pinpoint the attackers.
Of course, before a US special- forces raid or a drone strike is conducted against those who did this, we’ll need good intel to make sure we get the right people at a propitious time and place. But as the old adage goes, punishment should be not only just, it should be swift. Yet “swift” is clearly no longer an option after nearly three months. Our seeming inactivity and silence send a message to the terrorist world — loud and clear: We’re not only inept, we’re weak. It’d be nice to think we’re lulling the bad guys into a false sense of security before we act, catching them off guard. But, for the moment, we may also be giving them the sense that they have license to kill Americans with impunity.
Thankfully, if there’s one thing terrorists understand — and respect — it’s strength. Now would be a good time to show some, by bringing the Benghazi terrorists to account.

Rep. Hank Johnson at it again

House member Hank Johnson (D) GA is a gift that just keeps on giving. As you may recall Hank was the congressman who stated that Guam would tip over as a result of USMC units being relocated there from Okinawa.
Well Hank today has decided that we need to amend the Constitution to restrict free speech of corporations.

It only takes a little bit of thought to imagine what his district GA must look like. The leftist and Free Sh** Army will be the downfall of us all.

Barbaric Infanticide in the UK NHS

Words simply fail me when I read the whole article, (Hat Tip Gateway Pundit). If anyone doesn’t think this will happen here with the full implementation of Obamacare you are at best delusional. We now already know that bureaucratic care panels are in fact part of the package. So you can count on stories like this coming to a hospital near you.

It too bad that this is happening in a so called advanced western society, who is to know what the outcome of any child born with defect will be. Just last year a friend of mine had a little girl who was born with a tumor on her heart. The child just celebrated her 1st birthday after a successful heart transplant carried out earlier this year at Duke medical. If this had been in England there probably would not be this same happy outcome.

Here are some quotes from the article and a link to the Daily Mail for the whole thing.

Sick children are being discharged from NHS hospitals to die at home or in hospices on controversial ‘death pathways’.Until now, end of life regime the Liverpool Care Pathway was thought to have involved only elderly and terminally-ill adults. But the Mail can reveal the practice of withdrawing food and fluid by tube is being used on young patients as well as severely disabled newborn babies. One doctor has admitted starving and dehydrating ten babies to death in the neonatal unit of one hospital alone.Writing in a leading medical journal, the physician revealed the process can take an average of ten days during which a baby becomes ‘smaller and shrunken’.The LCP – on which 130,000 elderly and terminally-ill adult patients die each year – is now the subject of an independent inquiry ordered by ministers.
The use of end of life care methods on disabled newborn babies was revealed in the doctors’ bible, the British Medical Journal.

Blast From the Past, F-101 Voodoo

The F/RF-101 Voodoo was a twin engine fighter/reconnaissance aircraft developed in the early 1950’s, Powered by a pair of Pratt and Whitney J-57 turbo jets the Voodoo set many period speed records. The most common configuration was F/CF-101B two seat interceptor of which 487 were built and the RF-101C photo reconnaissance version which accounted for 169 airframes.

The F-101B was equipped with the Hughes MG-13 fire control system and was armed with four AIM-4 Falcon radar guided missiles and later with the MB/1 Genie nuclear missile. The weapons were carried internally on a rotating pallet. B models are easy to ID because of the 8 foot afterburner cans on the upgraded J-57 engines. The RF-101 C had a slightly modified nose and carried 6 cameras in place of the radar. The RF saw extensive service in Vietnam and served in the USAF/ANG until 1979. The Canadian CF-101 version stayed in squadron service until 1984 and one electric Voodoo, the EF-101 electronic jamming aircraft served until 1987 making its last flight on April 19th.

The Voodoo served both the USAF and the CAF well during its career. It is like many of the blast from the pasts that I’ve done before in it did not ever get much notoriety during its career.

Argentina Down the tubes again?

It looks from all signs that Argentina is once again going down the tubes into fiscal insolvency. This was caused once again by fueling the socialist dream of free stuff for everyone with no one to pay for it. What is surprising is they have been through this before ten years ago and actually manged to put together some decent growth in 2005-2007. But when they elected a leftest President Cristina Elisabet Fernández, their version of Obama lack of fiscal discipline has ruined the country.

Today Fitch cut its long-term rating for Argentina to "CC" from "B," a downgrade of five notches, and cut its short-term rating to "C" from "B". A rating of "C" is one step above default. This is on top of the ruling last week by the Manhattan federal court who ordered Argentina to set aside $1.3bn for certain investors in its bonds by December 15, even as Argentina pursues appeals. This is because there are large block of investors that don't want to be left holding bag like in 2002.

Why should we care? Argentina can be seen a microcosm of what is to come in the US when congress doesn't get a handle on spending. Currently they have an official inflation rate of 10.2 percent in October but they cook the books like the Fed does and many observers feel that real inflation is over 20 percent right now.
20 percent inflation in the US will destroy what is left of any growth. It will devastate the poor who depend on SNAP and EBT to eat and anyone on fixed income retirement. At 20 percent you might as well burn the money, nor really buying any tangible commodity before the price increases is a better bath for later bartering.

Argentina suffered major unrest and civil disorder during there last default. They will so again and our media will not cover anything about it

Senator's comments after Rice meeting

Apparently Ambassador Rice failed to sway the three Senators she talked with today.
You have to ask yourself a few questions. Why would Obama continue to push a flawed candidate for Secretary of State after her Benghazi comments? Second Why is the media giving cover instead of investigating what really went down in Lybya?
After all just like Watergate its not the crime but the cover up.
It's too bad the media is nothing more than a lap dog for the left. It amazes me that all these so called smart people are such ideologues that they will purposely avoid doing their jobs and report the failures of this administration. This is why our end game will not be pretty.

Senator Ayotte from NH was quoted,

“I’m more troubled today… It’s certainly clear from the beginning that we knew that those with ties to Al-Qaeda were involved in the attack on the embassy. And, clearly the impression that was given, the information given to the American people was wrong and in fact Ambassador Rice said today that Absolutely it was wrong… They have not cleared this up with the American people to date.”

Senator Graham from SC, who I never thought in a million years would maintain some backbone in this scandal said.

“The bottom line is that I’m more disturbed than I was before … about how four Americans died in Benghazi, Libya,”

We should all be concerned why four Americans died on 9/11 at the hands of jihadist thugs.

Fiscal Cliff?

I've been watching with amusement the ranting of all the MSM reporters, congressman and the White House about the fiscal cliff. I've come to the conclusion that A. they don't no what they are talking about. B. they are either complicate or stupid. The reality is if all the tax cuts disappear then 120 billion or so is raised, automatic spending cuts in 2013 another 100 billion dollars. The spending cuts are 50 billion from last years 700 billion plus DOD budget and 50 billion from 2.5 trillion is other spending nothing but a drop in the bucket. So a whopping 220 billion or so is raised against a CBO estimate of another 1 trillion dollar deficit in 2013. Octobers numbers have already been reported and we are  220 billion further in the whole.

What a lot of people  don't understand and the media fails to report is that there are two types of spending, mandatory and discretionary. Mandatory is social security, medicare, interest on the debt, Discretionary is everything else. You could cut 100% of all government discretionary spending and still not balance the budget.

Our worthless politicians know this but will do nothing to address spending cuts. In fact Obama doubled down yesterday and claimed since Obama care will save over 100 billion dollars then it is off the table in any negotiation.

Here are a few absolutes. the USA is broke and there is no way we will ever pay down the debt. There will be no cuts in spending, mostly I feel because if the EBT and SNAP cards and other welfare was reduced there would be civil unrest. So when you have 47% of the country getting some kind of aid from Uncle Sugar no politician has the stones to make a cut.

Bernanke and the Fed will keep printing money out of thin air which will cause more inflation. I believe their hope is to usher in enough inflation to reduce the debt but not cause any hyperinflation. This of course is a continuing failed policy and will end in currency collapse.. The end game, well it depends who you listen to, in all likelihood we will see a steady decline in the dollar and inflation kick in at an increased rate. The feds will then go after the last batch of cash in peoples 401K and nationalize it just like Argentina did back in 2002.

If the Republicans are smart they will give Obama everything he wants, including all tax raises. The only way people will be cured of thinking that leftist policy like European socialism works is to suffer some real pain because of it. I just hope the civil unrest does not go terminal and all the big cities burn as we go further into a new recession. You simply can't keep spending other peoples money and borrowing 40cents of every dollar. The election does have consequences, neither candidate spoke about any real spending cuts but Obama was out there promising more to the sheep.

This will not end well, usually the only way out is another war, god forbid. The capital goods index already shows that we are in recession, educate yourself at Zero hedge and Market ticker   and be ready for a wild ride in 2013

QF-16 at Tyndall

The first QF-16 drone arrived at Tyndall AFB FL on Friday to begin testing with the 56th WEG. The 56th has run both full scale and sub-scale drones over the Gulf of Mexico for years allowing pilots to get their first crack at shooting and air to air missile.
The first drones I saw down at Tyndall were converted F-100 Super Sabres, followed by F-106 Delta Darts to the current F-4 Phantoms.
According to the Air Force the QF-16 will offer increased training capability when they come on line in 2014. Extensive testing will be completed next year at Tyndall and Holloman AFB, NM to integrate the QF-16 into the drone force.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving one and all.
Later today I will be with my immediate family and a few friends to hang out eat the bird do some drinking and watch some football.

But before I must be thank full for the health and well being of my family the good job I have and the camaraderie and friendships I have here in town. Everyone can be thank full for something today, take a minute and think about it.

Tomorrow will be here soon enough to take a look at some of the events going on in this big world.

God Bless everyone.

Note on General Petraeus, Assh** of the week

General Petraeus the latest smoke screen of the whole Benghazi mess thanks to his screwing around with the now infamous Paula Broadwell has been hailed in the past by the leftest media as a hero or a scoundrel, I for one quoting the Late Col David Hackworth is nothing more than an "perfume prince".

This identification is very applicable for the great majority of flag officers in all branches of the service. While there are many who are honorable warriors there is great majority have been and always will be politicians at heart with all the corruption and cronyism just like any of the fools elected on the hill.

When you review his bio he Pretaues had  an honorable early career as an airborne infantry officer. Were he departed the norm was in the mid 80's when he was getting  his advanced degrees from Princeton and Harvard from there until his retirement he was promoted and held a large variety of aide to senior officer jobs until his command of the 101st Airborne in 2003. In his 37 years of service he never saw combat as an infantryman and holds no combat decorations of any kind.

One of the interesting side notes it was during his tenure in Afghanistan that some of the more ridiculous rules of engagement were set up. These restrictive rules to include restrictions of when you can use artillery and air support have done nothing but increase the body bag count in this fruitless war to include many local Marines from Camp Lejeune

His quote from this time is:

"We must never forget that the center of gravity in this struggle is the Afghan people; it is they who will ultimately determine the future of Afghanistan ... Prior to the use of fires, the commander approving the strike must determine that no civilians are present. If unable to assess the risk of civilian presence, fires are prohibited, except under of the following two conditions (specific conditions deleted due to operational security; however, they have to do with the risk to ISAF and Afghan forces"

Petraeus is not the first and he will not be the last of high ranking men who thought they could get a little action on the side.  I think what bother me most about senior officials like him both military and elected is that they all think they they are better or more privileged than the rest of us. Petraeus at one time lived under an honor code, He apparently forgot it or was being coerced by the administration to lie about Benghazi. Now his resignation gives the leftest media smokescreen cover for the administration on Benghazi.  We are no closer today than day one on finding out what really happened there that night and why Tyrone Woods and his partner were left to die on their guns after a seven hour battle. What is truly revolting is that Petraeus and the other flag who know what really went on will simply slink away into retirement instead of coming clean with what they know.

This is another reason why I weep for my country.

Well that didn't take long

Just hours after the media breathlessly notified the world of the cease fire in Gaza a dozen rockets rained down in Israel after the cease fire was enacted. I guess the IAF still has some work to do on the missile storage sights.

AR-15 America's Sporting Rifle

I had a discussion with one of my neighbors on what is a good all around rifle to own. I know there are a million options but I have found through my own experience it hard to go wrong with any of the AR-15 rifles out there.

The AR comes in many varieties the most common I see are the various M-4 clones. They are carbine length with collapsible stocks and removable carry handles.
There are many manufactures out there but if you are looking to buy I have a few suggestions. Get one chambered in 5.56 not just .223. The reason is  you can use 223 ammo in a 5.56 but because of increased chamber pressures you can physically hurt yourself and the rifle if you use 5.56 in a 223 only chamber. Get a chrome lined barrel and buy one that is mil spec. This will simplify replacement parts use and indicates that there is a known reference point for durability.

There are numerous option and accessories, most folks I know have added a forend rails to add lights and vertical grips, s decent optical or holographic sight with good back ups co witnessed and a good quality sling. I recommend the use of MAGPUL Pmags as they are basically indestructible. I also recommend having 2000 rounds on hand for each rifle. Good quality ammo stored correctly will last a lifetime and is a good hedge against price increases.

I will later post some links to good AR information sites. Remenber rifles are offeensive weapons like Col Jeff Cooper used to say. Col. Cooper also used to say that the pistol was used so you can get back to your rifle.

James Clyburn still a tool

Rep, James Clyburn (D) SC has finally jumped the shark. Of course he is calling anyone who calls out UN Ambassador Susan Rice as incompetent must be a racist.

"You know, these are code words," Clyburn, the third-ranking Democrat in the House, told CNN. "We heard them during the campaign — during this recent campaign we heard Sen. Sununu calling our president lazy, incompetent, these kinds of terms that those of us, especially those of us who were grown and raised in the South, we would hear these little words and phrases all of our lives and we'd get insulted by them.
"Susan Rice is as competent as anybody you will find, and just to paste that word on her causes problems with people like [incoming Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman] Marcia Fudge and certainly causes a big problem with me," he added.

This hew and cry by the left that anything we say that may be negative about anyone of color is racist has become simply ridiculous. In Ambassador Rice's case for what ever reason she took the the Obama administration talking paper  lies about Benghazi and ran with it to the media. Words and statements due have consequences. So either A. she knowingly was lying through her teeth or B. She was duped by her boss the President and after finding out the truth stayed silent. In either case it shows that she is unfit to serve in any other position at the national level.

P-8 Poseidon

Some nice shots of the new USN P-8 Poseidon. The P-8 is due to go IOC next summer and is the replacement for the falling apart P-3 Orions. I'm sure the Navy patrol squadron crew are really looking forward to getting there hands on the new jet.
Below is a link to the article.

USMC stand up 1st F-35B squadron

In a what I thought was a purely political move the USMC has stood up it first F-35 squadron at Yuma with Marine Attack Squadron 121 turning its Hornets in for the new jet. The only problem is the LRIP jets will be dedicated to the test program. Of course this whole thing is a joke, the helmet still doesn't work the jets are flying with temporary software the actual test program is only about 25% complete and only God knows how much money will be spent trying to get this pig to IOC which the Marines admit will not be until 2015, I'll belive that when I see it.
The F-35 program has been a standing joke and a poster child for how not to develop an combat aircraft. What is truly amazing that in a world were the US is basically broke we still have leadership in the Pentagon and Congress that are committed to spending even more on this program because of stealth.

The Air Force is just as bad cheerleading for this pig even though if the new testing time lines work out the  Air Force IOC will be about 6 years later than was promised back in 2001-2002

For a good article with links to others check out Wired Danger Room

Only a real Lockheed Martin fanboy could defend this sorry program at this point.

I predict that next year there will be major cuts in funding of the F-35, cost increase will cause many projected NATO buyers to cancel and we will end up buying additional updated F-15, F-18 and F-16 airframes in an attempt to recatipalize the force.

Twinkie RIP

I'm sure by now everyone has heard of Hostess throwing in the towel and going Chapter 7. You probably also saw the absurd statements made by Richard Trumka blaming "Bain" Policies For Hostess Shuttering"

What the MSM and Trumka failed to say by selective memory was that when Hostess emerged from Chapter 11 it was prominent Democrat Tim Collins of Ripplewood holding with the help of none other than another slimy former pol Dick Gephadrt who injected 130 million intro the company.

Of course the sheep will never hear this and the MSM will not report it so over the next few days we will here the wail and cry of evil capitalists when in reality it was their own rich buddies involved and a union to stupid to see what the reality was in a very low margin business.

I can't see this financial mess going on another year. The only good thing is Europe will burn before the USA and maybe that will get these sorry ass politicking's fools on both sides of the aisle to actually tell the truth and do the right thing. I can always dream. For a detailed look check Zero Hedge

Lurch for Secretary of Defense?

Only someone like Obama could even think about allowing someone like John Kerry to serve as Secretary of Defense. What Kerry did in 1972 with the lies being told at Winter soldier and  talking to the North Vietnamese in Paris while still being a reserve Naval Officer was nothing short of treason.

We still have never seen his DD Form 214, this in itself is very troubling . Only the release of his DD 214 could explain why the decorations he released during his failed 2004 campaign all had the signature of the Secretary of the Navy who served after Vietnam. The only plausible explanation is he in the 1972-73 timeline received a less than honorable release and only after the other leftist freak Carter pardoned the draft dodgers and other Vietnam area criminals was he able to apply for a correction which would have led to all the medal citations to be issued at the later date.

Kerry is and will always be a fraud. He wanted to be another JFK instead he is just another career leftist. Thank you Massachusetts.

F-22 crashes on Tyndall Air Force Base

An F-22 Raptor from the 325 FW crashed Thursday afternoon on Tyndall AFB. The pilot ejected and is safe and under the care of the 325 Medical Group. According to reports the Raptor went down in the woods near US highway 98 in the woods near the drone runway highway 98 was closed from down to Mexico beach.

I was stationed at Tyndall twice and have witnessed three crashes, a manned F-100 drone on take off, An Indiana F-4E Phantom on take off and a manned F-106 also on takeoff, The drones suffered catastrophic engine failure and the F-4 was pure negligence as the center line fuel tank cap was left ajar that ended up causing an uncontrollable fire. The wing also lost a pair of F-15's one going down in the Gulf and 1 lost in Apalachicola National Forest after a catastrophic engine failure. All this in less than 6 years over two assignments.
It will be interesting to see what the investigation finds I will not be surprised if it was an engine failure that brought it down.
Below is a video from one of the local Panama City stations.

Taxes

Another little side note, Obama now calls for a 1.6 trillion dollar tax increase double what was being discussed in 2011. Another tasty tidbit instead of 1 dollar of tax increase for every 3 dollars in cuts its now the exact opposite.
Don't expect the MSM folks to report this accurately, after all they too believe in the failed European Socialist model. After all it will work out OK here because we are so smart.

The best thing about this election is as the economy continues to grind to a halt Obama and the Democrats will be holding the bag. Be long on junk silver, extra food and self protection.

Message on Benghazi

Did anyone else listen closely to Obama and Benghazi today in his defense of Susan Rice?
On the one hand he said that she should stand for the Secretary of Defense because she was only using the information she was given. Reading between the lines does that mean that he and his administration lied to their UN ambassador so she could shill for the administration or is he lying now?  Well we all know that he lied then about the attack being as a result of the video so he is probably lying now.

He also called out Mcain and Graham since they have publicly declared that they will not support Rice's nomination. Obama's quote

"As I said before, she made an appearance at the request of the White House in which she gave her best understanding of the intelligence that had been provided to her. If Senator McCain and Senator Graham and others want to go after somebody, they should go after me. And I'm happy to have that discussion with them. But for them to go after the U.N. ambassador who had nothing to do with Benghazi, and was simply making a presentation based on intelligence that she had received, and besmirch her reputation is outrageous,"

With Graham resounding back late yesterday.

"Mr. President, don’t think for one minute I don’t hold you ultimately responsible for Benghazi.”

Just savor the thought as this whole mess comes undone by June and at the next press conference could begin President Biden I have a serious question for you.

Like I said this is Watergate with a body count.

Brussels ends Christmas tree display

So much for the epic 1529 defense at the Gates of Vienna that stopped the Ottoman empire expansion. It looks like Muslims will take over Europe just because of leftist PC. What a shame I lived in the Netherlands on the late 80's for 4 years and the UK in the late 90's. I've gone back for a visit and it's disturbing how bad thing are PC wise in all of these countries. If no one stand up western Europe will disappear with out a sound.

The article below is a translation from its original Dutch, the link is the original article.

http://www.brusselnieuws.be/artikel/debaets-%E2%80%98kerstboom-weg-wegens-verwijzing-naar-kerstmis

The City was announced Wednesday that this year is no traditional Christmas tree on the Grand Place. In its place there is a light sculpture in the shape of a tree, an "electronic Christmas tree."

Debaets is not happy with that decision. "After the 'Christmas' not 'Christmas', but more could be called" winter fun "should now another element killed that too much could refer to Christmas," she says.

"Not that the Christmas tree or a Christian religious symbol, but the tree bears obviously a reference to Christmas itself. I suspect that the exact reference of the tree henceforth banished from the Market. And that's a shame. "

Debaets think a historical and multireligious city to keep the traditions alive and should allow all ideologies. "For a lot of people who are not Christians, the tree there," she concluded from the responses she received from residents and traders.

"What next?" Asks Debaets wondered. "All eggs from the city because they refer to Easter? If the new style of the brand new Brussels city I hold my breath. "
According to Nicolas Dassonville, spokesman for Mayor Thielemans (PS), the change has nothing to do with anti-religious motives.
