Thursday afternoon a US Airways A320 enroute from LaGuardia to Charlotte suffered numerous bird strikes that led to catastrophic engine failure to both of the aircrafts engines.. The real hero was the pilot Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, III, Captain. Sullenberger age 57 a former USAF F-4 pilot is a senior Captain for the airline he and his first officer used all of their combined skill to execute a flawless ditching of the A320 in the Hudson River. There action coupled with that of the cabin crew and some stand up passengers led to a successful evacuation of the plane with no loss of life and few serious injuries.
