Capt Bullshit Rides Again

In his worlds speech today Capt Bullshit aka Obama made some incredibly stupid remarks and when you read hole thing you to will be pissed off in his tone an rhetoric.
You would think with the entire worthless MSM in the tank for him he should be outpolling McCain by double digits, this is not happening. If the media bump is like the last election McCain may indeed have chance after all and we can send this Marxist back to Illinois, they can keep him.
What got me going was his statement sin reference to the Berlin airlift.

“And that’s when the airlift began — when the largest and most unlikely rescue in history brought food and hope to the people of this city.
The odds were stacked against success. In the winter, a heavy fog filled the sky above, and many planes were forced to turn back without dropping off the needed supplies. The streets where we stand were filled with hungry families who had no comfort from the cold”

Gen Lemay, then Gen Curtis orders were tp press on regardless of weather, many missions landed in severe IFR weather using GCI control. I f you went missed approach at Tempelhof you returned to start, refueled and tried again,
Capt Bullshits latest statement is a slap to the face to all airmen who made the Berlin Airlift happen. What an ill informed ass hat this leftist is turning out to be.

Obama Wrong Again In Iraq

Maybe he should have talked to the Iraqi's first before running off at the flip flopping mouth. In other comments, you need to check out CBS news with the Couric interview, he claims that the surge is not a success.

Hat Tip: Gateway Pundit
The Al-Anbar Sheiks warned Obama today about his hasty plans for retreat.
The BBC reported:

In Anbar, Mr Obama met militiamen of the US-backed Awakening Councils movement - a tribal alliance whose members turned against al-Qaeda last year.

Ahmed Abu Risha, head of the Awakening Councils, said tribal chiefs had told Mr Obama at their meeting in Ramadi that any withdrawal of US forces from Anbar should be carried out cautiously.
The Sunni leader of the Al-Anbar Awakening Councils, Sheik Ahmed Fateh Khan al-Rishawi (Ahmed Abu Risha), told the US last year that he he would send advisors to Afghanistan to help fight Al-Qaeda if asked.

B-52 Down Off Guam (Update)

Update:
The US military continued rescue efforts for the crew of a B-52 bomber that crashed off the coast of Guam, but it was increasingly unlikely survivors will be found, the US Air Force said Tuesday.

Details are sketchy but a B-52 from Barksdale AFB La has crashed off of Guam enroute to a parade flyover on the island. Two crewmembers have been recovered but no wire report knows their condition I’ll update as more information becomes available

First Deserter Returned From Canada Guilty

Via the Toronto Star:

An U.S. Army deserter who took refuge in Canada before returning to the U.S. voluntarily was given a dishonourable discharge yesterday and sentenced to nine months in jail, a close supporter said.
James Burmeister, 22, was sentenced by a military judge in Fort Knox, Ky., after a four-hour court martial hearing, said Carol Rawert-Trainer, of the American non-profit group Vietnam Veterans Against the War.
"It's quite a shock to everybody," said Rawert-Trainer from Louisville, Ky. "We all thought they were going to take it easy on him because he turned himself in, but it doesn't look that way."

The article has more but the bottom line is this time Canada with troops in Afghanistan will not be a refuge for cowards and deserters. I mean what did anyone on the left expect, this man volunteered after the war started and then deserts. Nine months is not enough time since a normal combat tour for the Army is 12-15 months

50, 000 Sorties and Counting, Operation Noble Eagle

The AF reported that 2 F-16s from the 20th FW, Shaw AFC, SC, flew the 50,000 sortie for Operation Noble Eagle. Operation Noble Eagle's mission is to protect the homeland from air threats, and if necessary, eliminate threats that endanger the public or critical infrastructure in the United States. I knew that we had flown a lot of homeland defense missions since 9/11 but this is a huge number. My hat tip to all the dedicated maintainers that make this mission happen everyday.

Blast From The Past, OV-10 Bronco

The OV-10 Bronco was a unique aircraft in many ways. Developed as a tri service project the Bronco’s missions included observation, forward air control, helicopter escort, armed reconnaissance, gunfire spotting, utility and limited ground attack. The USAF acquired the Bronco primarily as a forward air control (FAC) aircraft. Adding to its versatility is a rear fuselage compartment with a capacity of 3,200 pounds of cargo, five combat-equipped troops or two litter patients and a medical attendant.
First flown in 1967 the Bronco saw service in Vietnam through Desert Storm where the USMC was still flying it. In addition to US service the OV-10 served with the military services of West Germany (OV-10B), and is still flying in Thailand (OV-10C), Venezuela (OV-10E) and Indonesia (OV-10F), Columbia and the Philippines (Ex USAF). The Bronco can still be seen flying today in the US in the hands of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection

Obama Latest Flop On The Surge

What a total jive a**, yesterday he flops on the surge in Iraq.
First yesterdays quote
"If current trends continue and we were in a position where we continue to see reductions in violence and stabilization and continue to see some improvements on the part of the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi police, then my hope could be that we could draw down in a deliberate fashion in consultation with the Iraqi government at a pace that is determined in consultation with General Petraeus and the other commanders on the ground."

This is a far cry from last years comments

"We cannot impose a military solution on what has effectively become a civil war. And until we acknowledge that reality, uh, we can send 15,000 more troops; 20,000 more troops; 30,000 more troops. Uh, I don't know any, uh, expert on the region or any military officer that I've spoken to, uh, privately that believes that that is gonna make a substantial difference on the situation on the ground."

I can’t wait to he flops on drilling for our own oil. The Democrat party is starting to get hammered as the price of gas continues to climb. Why can’t people see that he is just another finger in the wind pol? Oh that’s right the MSM is carrying the water for this too

Re-Enlistment Day In Iraq

Check out all the folks re-enlisting on July 4th in one of Saddams palaces. Gen Petraeus gave the oath.

BAGHDAD — Servicemembers from all over Iraq gathered here today in the Al Faw Palace rotunda on Camp Victory, to re-enlist and celebrate America’s Independence Day.

All 1,215 servicemembers celebrated by raising their right hand and pledging to continue defending the ‘land of the free’ in what is the largest re-enlistment ceremony since the all-volunteer force began in 1973, according to the Multi-National Force – Iraq Command Sergeant Major, Command Sgt, Maj. Marvin L. Hill.

“Volunteering to continue to serve our nation, while deployed – is both noble and inspiring,” said Gen. David Petraeus, commanding general, Multi-National Force – Iraq. “It is, as award citations often state, in keeping with the finest traditions of our military services.”

Kauai Missile Test Deemed Success As Target Is Destroyed

This test saw no news on the MSM if it wasn’t for blogs and a few trade pubs it would have passed wtith no one noticing anything. Good for USA = Bad for MSM and vice versa. Or is it Good for USA bad for Obama, who has said he would pull funding from these untested systems, what an asshat.

By Diana Leone
Advertiser Kaua'i Bureau

LIHU'E, Kaua'i — An interceptor missile launched from Kaua'i hit its target
yesterday in the first such test in which a target was dropped from an airplane.
A Terminal High Altitude Area Defense missile was fired from the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands to intercept a target launched from an Air Force C-17 aircraft at 4:16 p.m., the U.S. Missile Defense Agency reported.
The THAAD missile hit its target six minutes later.
"It was an amazing feat," said Col. William Lamb, THAAD project manager for the Missile Defense Agency.
The target had a dummy warhead that separated from its propellant base — another first for the testing program — which increased the challenge for the interceptor to detect and "kill" the correct piece of the target, Lamb said.
Lamb praised the team of Army soldiers from Fort Bliss, Texas, who operated the ground-based launcher that fired the THAAD missile, as well as the radar and command equipment that helped detect and track the target.
The soldiers didn't know when the target would be launched and manually engaged the target, which "brought increased operational realism" to the test, the agency release said.
"The test went very well," Lamb said.
Meanwhile, the Navy cruiser USS Lake Erie received a tracking cue from the THAAD system, and used its advanced SPY-1 radar to track the target missile and conduct a simulated firing of its onboard Standard Missile-3 interceptor missile.
The sharing of data between the Army and Navy is one reason the Pacific Missile Range Facility is such a good location for missile defense tests, Lamb said.
Last month, Fort Bliss became home to the country's first THAAD unit, Missile Defense Agency spokeswoman Pam Rogers said. Up to three more 100-soldier missile batteries could eventually join the unit, she said.
Lockheed Martin, the main contractor to the Missile Defense Agency for the THAAD program, expects to deliver 48 missiles, six launchers and two fire control and communication units to Fort Bliss under a $619 million production contract, the company said in a release.
The Bethesda, Md., company has developed and tested the THAAD anti-ballistic missiles since receiving a $4 billion contract in 2000, said company spokesman Marcello Bruni, who was among dozens of Lockheed employees on Kaua'i for yesterday's test.
Lockheed Martin also has 33 employees stationed at Kaua'i's Pacific Missile Range Facility.
Yesterday's test was the 35th successful hit-to-kill intercept out of 43 attempts in the atmosphere and in space since 2001, and was the 29th of 30 successful tests conducted since September 2005, the Missile Defense Agency said in a release.
THAAD missiles have been tested in the 2 million-square-mile Pacific Missile Range Facility four times since April 2007, Lamb said. A fifth test is expected in the fall.
Each major test like this one brings a one-time economic impact to Kaua'i of several million dollars, said Tom Clement, Pacific Missile Range Facility spokesman.
