50, 000 Sorties and Counting, Operation Noble Eagle

The AF reported that 2 F-16s from the 20th FW, Shaw AFC, SC, flew the 50,000 sortie for Operation Noble Eagle. Operation Noble Eagle's mission is to protect the homeland from air threats, and if necessary, eliminate threats that endanger the public or critical infrastructure in the United States. I knew that we had flown a lot of homeland defense missions since 9/11 but this is a huge number. My hat tip to all the dedicated maintainers that make this mission happen everyday.
